Dignity

"If the annual salary of the Minister of Information, Communication and Arts is only $500,000, it may pose some problems when he discuss policies with media CEOs who earn millions of dollars because they need not listen to the minister's ideas and proposals. Hence, a reasonable payout will help to maintain a bit of dignity." - A certain MP explaining how Dignity is measured.

No matter how wrong the above statement sounds, it is the hard truth. Using my recent 2 week reservist as an example, of which I was given a generous service pay* of $327.07.  That will be around $32.70 per day,  a little bit lower than your average Bangala worker.  Using the measurement of dignity, I have less dignity than your average Bangala worker while serving my reservist, which is technically not too far from the truth.

* What I would have received if  I do not have a full-time job.

Your average Bangala worker.

Speaking of my reservist, even with the good company, it is still the most  horrid affair  of my life so far this year. I have to work on average 18hrs per day.** That will work up to $1.82 per hour, that is even less dignity than MacDonald's $3 per hour.  In the climate of the reservist,  my poor boots that had followed me since I started doing NS got totally destroyed by the savage land of Yishun.

** I consider it as working as long as I am concious.

Similar but without the dinosaurs.
I ended my reservist with a new pair of  flesh eating boots, a bad case of Flu and knowledge of a new word  : Fu*kee. Used in the following context,
 " Who call me Fu*ker ? At least I am a Fu*ker not a Fu*kee".

Dignity, something you can never expect from the Motherland Army.

The End
